Let’s talk about Freenom.
Freenom is a domain provider where you can get free domains for a year. These domains work just like any other domain and are perfect for testing and development environments. Perhaps the only limitation is that you can only get domains that end in .tk, .ml, .ga, .cf, or .gq.
Note: I don’t recommend using a free domain for production.
How to register a domain on Freenom
Go to https://www.freenom.com and create an account.
Go to the homepage and search for your preferred domain.
- If the domain is available, click Checkout.
- Select the 12-month period and then click Continue.
- Accept the terms and conditions and complete the order.
- Congratulations! You have registered a free domain, and it will be visible in your domain catalog.
